Step 2: Register for the Real Estate Licensing Program
In order to become a Real Estate Agent, you have to complete a series of Salesperson Licensing Courses which consists of four modules.
The first three modules are completed with a textbook and a workbook at home, while the fourth module consists of 1.5 days of classroom instruction. They are also available to be taken online.

Step 3: Select a brokerage to partner with
Realtors in Winnipeg have lots of options when it comes to choosing a brokerage partner. These choices come with different fee structures, cultures, and training and development opportunities. Some agents taking the courses start interviewing brokerages during their courses.
Interviewing during Phase 3 is recommended to ensure once you complete your licensing requirements, you can hit the ground running.
Step 4: Apply to the Manitoba Securities Commission for your license
The Manitoba Securities Commission has a licensing fee of $400.00 and will perform a criminal background check (approx 24-48 hours). Your Royal LePage Broker will help you navigate the application process and business start up.
Step 5: Apply to the Local Real Estate Boards for Registration
If you are employed by a broker who is a member of a real estate board or association, there are additional fees: board or association dues, a one-time initiation fee for the MREA REALTOR® Security Program, plus levies for the MREA Reimbursement Fund and the REIAOC Errors and Omissions Insurance Program. Your Royal LePage Broker will guide you through the registration process.
